Train tickets to Machu Picchu

If you take the train from Cusco to Machu Picchu, be sure to reserve your tickets at least one or more days in advance. Also, be sure to bring your passport when buying your ticket. You could use one of the many tour agents in town if you don’t want to spend time waiting at the train station. There is usually a lengthy line for tickets. The train actually goes to Aguas Calientes and from there you take a bus to Machu Picchu itself.

The train trip is very enjoyable, passing thru some marvelous scenery.
