Cycling the Andes
Long distance cycling in South America is becoming an increasingly popular way for some to see the dramatic landscapes that characterize the region. Colin Champion and Tracey Maund are a couple of highly experienced cyclists who have taken their bikes all over the world and documented the trips on their web site masterlyinactivity.com.
Their most recent cycling trip in South America was three weeks in the Andes in January-February 2005. See Cycling the Andes for their route notes, narrative, and photos. They also provide GPS information, some good topo maps, and other details for future cyclists considering a similar trip.
